GMail issues for some users, should be resolved

I corrected a problem today that involved GMail users, specifically GMail was not delivering the email with account verification links (or anything else from forums.pota.news). The root cause was that Discourse was misconfigured to use the DKIM signing key from pota.news instead of forums.pota.news, and GMail was not accepting those emails.

I’ve consolidated email delivery so that all the properties are using a From: domain of pota.news, and GMail now delivers email correctly for us.

All that to say that if you were creating an account from a GMail address, you very likely didn’t receive a confirmation link back. I’ve emailed those users directly to let them know it is corrected, looks like about 20 of you.

Thanks for fixing the issue too. Forgot all about it as all of the emails went to my spam folder. I hate it when that happens. 73!

Glad you got in, man. It ended up triggering some really good site maintenance, and now the systems are that much closer to just and exact perfection.

It’s hard when it’s a single-man and one-AI operation, sometimes it ends up being whack-a-mole.
