I completed my Pack Mule activation #004 at POTA AT-005. This park is located on the outskirts of Vienna and serves as a recreational spot for the city’s residents. This park also features an observation tower, which has its own reference number, OED-1010, in the TOTA (Towers on the Air) program. After about 3.7 km and a few hundred meters of elevation gain, I reached the tower and made my first QSOs on 2m from the platform. Since it was very windy, I set up my HF station, consisting of a G90 and JPC-12, at the base of the tower, where I could make myself comfortable on a bench. After about 2 hours, I had 34 QSOs in the log, including 7 P2P and 2 SOTA. Unfortunately, it started to get colder, so I packed up my station and walked the 3.7 km back down to my car. It was a great afternoon for me, even though the propagation conditions weren’t great.
