As late as mid-August 2025, the trail at Nisene Marks that leads up to the earthquake memorial is still closed. There’s a sign that says ‘Closed Indefinitely’, but you can follow the creek upstream along the banks to get quite close. Unfortunately I couldn’t find a way around the last 100 feet or so to the marker, the area is a mess and likely unstable. Looked like a slip had happened recently.

The following trails and areas are closed until further notice due to storm damage and erosion:
- West Ridge Trail Camp
- Aptos Creek Trail
- The Trail to Five Finger Falls closed at the Big Slide Trail/ Aptos Creek Trail intersect
